Get to know pastor Nia
Rev. Chania L. Dillard is a native of Baltimore, MD. She holds an earned Bachelor's degree inFine Arts, with a concentration in Vocal Performance, from Bowie State University. She also holds an earned Master's of Divinity Degree from Wesley Theological Seminary. Additionally,she has acquired certifications in Youth Mental Health First Aid and Suicide Prevention for theBlack Church. Rev. Dillard is an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (A.M.E.).She is a gifted preacher who has been graced with the privilege of sharing the Gospel of JesusChrist both nationally and internationally. For over a decade, her ministry has focused on theholistic well-being, as well as the spiritual growth and development, of youth, young adults, andwomen. She is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Rev. Dillard has served in a number of leadership capacities. Most recently, she served as theSenior Pastor of Olivet United Methodist Church. Notably, she was the first African Americanand African American woman to be appointed to that church. Affectionately known as “PastorNia”, she is currently serving as the United Methodist Campus Pastor and Chaplain at theUniversity of Maryland College Park. Pastor Dillard strongly believes that it is only by the grace and mercy of God that she has made itthis far. She often says, “God didn’t bring me this far, to only bring me this far.” Rev. Dillard also holds fast to the promises in 1 Corinthians 2:9, “…eyes have not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.” As a preacher, teacher, mentor, ministry consultant, intercessor, and workshop facilitator, Pastor Chania Dillard desires nothing more than to make an IMPACT in the world. She lives by the statement: "I am absolutely nothing without God."
